Most officers carry an expandable baton, yet very few ever use it as an impact weapon. More often, the baton ends up being used as a simple extension of reach. Officers use it to move objects, retrieve items, open doors, and interact with things they would rather not touch directly.

Building on these use cases, we created the Baton Buddy™ System to help officers get more value from the equipment they already carry.

The Hook Attachment is the first in a growing family of baton-mounted attachments designed to make the expandable baton more useful during everyday police work.

The Baton Buddy™ Hook securely snaps onto most expandable batons and turns them into a practical retrieval and manipulation tool. Need to pull a backpack out from under a vehicle? Grab a cord that's out of reach? Retrieve keys that fell behind equipment or into a hard-to-reach space? Open a door from a safer distance? Move an item without bending down or getting closer than necessary? The Hook makes those tasks easier.

Made from durable thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) with a Shore hardness of 68D, the attachments combine strength with enough flexibility to handle real-world use. The semi-elastic design also allows the Hook to function as a door stop, helping keep doors open during building searches, warrant service, and other operations. The Hook is rated to support up to 15 pounds.
