Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) programs are designed to help officers safely and effectively respond to people in crisis, especially those experiencing mental illness, substance use, or emotional distress. But after the initial training is over, it’s easy to forget details.

Crisis Intervention Essentials is a flashcard reference deck designed to reinforce the fundamentals of crisis response. It reinforces core CIT principles with quick, accessible guidance officers can use on the spot. Each card focuses on a specific topic and offers direct, plain-language reminders on what to look for and how to respond.
